The tour announcement comes weeks before the release of Hit Me Hard and Soft, Eilish's third studio album, set for release on May 17.

Her previous tours include the Don't Smile at Me Tour, When We All Fall Asleep Tour, and Happier Than Ever, The World Tour.

The announcement comes after the publication of a very candid interview Billie did for Rolling Stone, where the singer revealed she suffered an existential crisis on her 20th birthday after realizing all her friends were on her payroll.

While looking back on the celebration, the superstar, who has racked up billions of streams worldwide and nine Grammy Awards in the past three years, told Rolling Stone that she spiraled after looking 'around the room' and realizing 'every single person' was one of her employees.

'I was like, 'Oh, shit, I literally don't have friends. I don't have people that see me as an equal. I don't have people that aren't afraid of me,'' she remembered thinking.

At the time, she also explained songs about friendship, like the Beatles' With a Little Help From My Friends and Lily Allen's Smile, made her feel sick to her stomach.

At the time, she made no indication that she was in distress as she marked the occasion by sharing a photo of a candy cane birthday cake and a bounce house.

Around this time, Eilish said her pal Zoë Kravitz, 35, would often ask her to hang out, but she would never follow through on making plans.

'I remember her being like, 'Why won't you hang out with me?' the singer said. 'And I was like, 'Because when you get to know me, you're going to know me, and that's so terrifying to me, because then I'm not just, like, this person you think is cool. And what if you don't like me?''

At the time, the Bad Guy hitmaker said she was 'obsessed with the idea of being an anomaly' and portraying 'this Billie Eilish character.'

'Anyway, I have since thrown away that idea, and been hanging out with people. If they get to know me, that's OK. That's good,' she said.

'We're both Sags, so I totally understand the flightiness because I can be kind of similar,' Kravitz said. 'I think I probably just told her to shut up and get over it. And we've been really good friends ever since. It's actually the opposite of what she said: The more I get to know her, she gets better and better.'

Kravitz also shed light on how there's no way for other people, out of the spotlight, to understand 'the feeling of, everyone's staring at you' out in public all the time.

'You have to do this thing where you either acknowledge it and wave like you're the president, or you have to pretend you don't know everyone's staring at you,' the actress told the outlet. '[It's] energetically draining.'

She continued: 'A lot of artists go through the space where you're just like, 'I just would rather stay inside. I look like shit today, so I don't want to go out and go on a walk, even though it's pretty outside.' Those little moments get taken away from you.'

Not going outside, for Eilish, was a decision she made to remain an enigma.

'That used to be a thing I would strive for,' she admitted. 'I used to be so obsessed with this mysteriousness, and I think that's 100 percent why I didn't make any friends, because I didn't want anyone to know me, because I wanted everyone to think of me as this mysterious, cool person.'

She added: 'I loved the idea of people feeling that way, but then I thought, 'Oh, here I am sitting alone in my room, loving the feeling that everybody thinks I'm really cool, but I'm not actually getting anything out of that. I'm not enjoying anything in my life at all.'

Eilish went on to explain people still find it surprising when they see her at places like Chipotle.

After the employees asked if she had a private chef, Eilish said she didn't have anyone that cooked for her and thinks 'Chipotle is fire.'

'Can’t we make a grilled cheese or something by ourselves?' she mused.

She went on to declare that vacations are a 'scam' and that while she owns an electric Porsche, she doesn't have a driver.

As for the 'bougiest' thing she has, the singer replied: 'Money.'

Eilish, who recently got back into dancing and at the gym for her mental health, said she hit a turning point after realizing she hadn't 'had fun in seven years.'

The Gen Z superstar also spoke about using sex and self-pleasure to decompress.

'I basically talk about sex any time I possibly can. That’s literally my favorite topic. My experience as a woman has been that it’s seen in such a weird way. People are so uncomfortable talking about it, and weirded out when women are very comfortable in their sexuality and communicative in it,' she said.

The Ocean Eyes crooner continued: 'I think it’s such a frowned-upon thing to talk about, and I think that should change. You asked me what I do to decompress? That shit can really, really save you sometimes, just saying. Can’t recommend it more, to be real.'

Eilish also raved about how masturbating in front of a mirror has helped her form a 'raw, deep connection' to herself and body that she's never had in the past.

'I got to say, looking at yourself in the mirror and thinking ‘I look really good right now’ is so helpful,' she explained. 'You can manufacture the situation you’re in to make sure you look good. You can make the light super dim, you can be in a specific outfit or in a specific position that’s more flattering.'

The Oscar winner noted that she's learned that looking at herself and watching herself 'feel pleasure has been an extreme help in loving' and accepting herself as well as 'feeling empowered and comfortable.'

'People should be jerking it, man. I can’t stress it enough, as somebody with extreme body issues and dysmorphia that I’ve had my entire life,' she told readers. 'I should have a Ph.D. in masturbation.'

While discussing her sexuality and feeling forced to come out as queer during a red carpet interview last year, the performer revealed she's 'been in love with girls' her 'whole life.'

'I just didn’t understand — until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina. I was never planning on talking about my sexuality ever, in a million years. It’s really frustrating to me that it came up,' she admitted.

While speaking about her upcoming track, Lunch, inspired by her queer identity, Eilish explained that she 'wrote some of it before even doing anything with a girl' and 'the rest after.'

The chorus of the raunchy track goes: 'I could eat that girl for lunch / Yeah, she dances on my tongue / Tastes like she might be the one / And I can never get enough / I could buy you so much stuff / It’s a craving, not a crush.'

In December, the musician said that she thought her queer identity was 'obvious' during Variety's Hitmakers event.

'I kind of thought, wasn't it obvious? I didn't realize people didn't know,' she said, at the time. 'I just don't really believe in it. I'm just like, why can't we just exist? I've been doing this for a long time, and I just didn't talk about it.'

When asked about how she felt regarding the opinions of other women, she stated: 'I'm still scared of them, but I think they're pretty!'

During her older interview with Variety, Eilish spoke about having a longstanding issue where she was not able to connect with other women.

Eilish has been romantically connected to several individuals over the years, including The Neighbourhood's Jesse Rutherford (seen with the singer in 2022) and rapper Brandon Adams, who performs under the name 7:AMP

'I've never really felt like I could relate to girls very well. I love them so much. I love them as people. I'm attracted to them as people. I'm attracted to them for real,' she said.

The What Was I Made For singer elaborated on her earlier statement and expressed: 'I have deep connections with women in my life, the friends in my life, the family in my life. I'm physically attracted to them.

However, she added: I'm also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence.'
